Accountability
Government’s supposed to work for the people, but instead it only seems to benefit the lobbyists, insiders, and the rich and powerful. Accountability means earning trust back by showing that government can be honest, effective, and on the people’s side again.
I’ll fight to root out corruption, expose waste, and bring real transparency to how Washington spends and decides.
"Strength Through Diplomacy."
"Strength Through Diplomacy."
The violence in Gaza is genocide funded by the U.S. taxpayers. I support an immediate and sustained ceasefire, the release of all hostages, unrestricted humanitarian aid into Gaza, and full accountability under international law. I also support a political solution that recognizes Palestinian self-determination, upholds human rights, and an end to U.S. policies that make peace impossible.
Congress hasn’t formally declared war since World War II and yet we’ve sent generations of Americans into conflicts around the world. It’s time for Congress to reclaim its constitutional authority by revising the War Powers Resolution of 1973 and reining in unchecked executive power.
America is strongest when we lead alongside our allies. I support a renewed, unequivocal commitment to international institutions and agreementsthat advance peace, security, and global stability—including the United Nations (UN), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Paris Climate Accords.
American leadership should be measured not by military power, but by our ability to prevent suffering, uphold human dignity, and build lasting stability. I support fully funding and strengthening United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with a focus on transparency, accountability, and evidence-based results. Through humanitarian aid, global health, food security, and democracy support, USAID saves lives, stabilizes fragile regions, and reduces the need for military intervention.
American weapons should never be used to commit war crimes or repress civilians. I support strict oversight and transparency for U.S. arms sales and military assistance, including enforceable human-rights conditions, meaningful congressional review, and automatic suspension when violations occur.
Economic statecraft should target corruption, human-rights abuses, and aggression while minimizing harm to ordinary people. I support reforming U.S. sanctions policy to emphasize multilateral coordination, workable humanitarian exemptions, and regular review to ensure effective impact.
“Guardrails for the Digital Age.”
“Guardrails for the Digital Age.”
Americans deserve clear, enforceable rights over their personal data, including the right to know what’s collected, correct it, delete it, and opt out of profiling. We need a true Privacy Bill of Rights that forces companies to collect only what’s necessary and face real consequences when they break the law.
There is no good reason for shadowy companies to buy and sell your precise location, health information, or your children’s data. I will push to ban the sale of sensitive personal information, require broker transparency and easy opt-outs, and crack down on deceptive consent practices. Your private life should not be a commodity.
Tools like automated license plate readers can help solve crimes but without strict limits, they become dragnet systems. I support clear use restrictions, short data retention windows, audit logs, transparency requirements, and warrants for sensitive searches. Safety without guardrails becomes surveillance.
From schools to hospitals to small businesses, Americans are paying the price for weak cybersecurity standards. We need stronger federal requirements for contractors, real breach disclosure rules, and serious investment in protecting critical infrastructure. Security should be the baseline, not an afterthought.
Government agencies should not be able to casually mix and match personal data across departments, regardless of the purpose. I will fight to reinforce legal firewalls, require court oversight for sensitive cross-agency access, and ban backdoor searches. Power without boundaries erodes trust.
Children should not grow up in a world where their faces, locations, and digital histories are tracked and monetized. I support banning the sale of minors’ data, prohibiting targeted ads to kids, and placing strict limits on biometric collection in schools. The guardrails we build now will define the freedom our kids inherit.
"Practical Gun Reform That Protects Our Communities.”
"Practical Gun Reform That Protects Our Communities.”
I support the Second Amendment and the right of every law-abiding citizen to own firearms responsibly. We can uphold those rights while making our communities safer by providing free firearm safety training and expanding gun education programs to promote a culture of responsibility.
It’s harder to buy a house in America than it is to buy a gun and that needs to change. We must pass universal federal background checks to make sure firearms are only in the hands of responsible, law-abiding citizens and never in the hands of those who pose a danger to our communities.
We must close the gun show and private sale loopholes that allow individuals to evade background checks and buy firearms without oversight.
As a survivor of a school shooting, I’ve seen firsthand what happens when guns end up in the hands of people who shouldn’t have them. We need strong federal Red Flag laws that empower our courts to temporarily remove firearms from individuals who pose a danger to themselves or others.
We need to call gun violence what it is: a public health emergency. Too many communities have been torn apart by senseless violence, and it’s time we treat this crisis with the urgency, resources, and leadership it demands.
"Fix the System. Serve the Veterans."
"Fix the System. Serve the Veterans."
I spent several years working at the VA and saw firsthand the dysfunction that keeps veterans from getting the care and benefits they’ve earned. We must fully fund and modernize the VA—from electronic health records to the processing of benefit claims—to ensure every veteran receives the efficiency, respect, and dignity they deserve.
We must expand specialized mental health care and suicide prevention efforts for veterans by increasing access to peer counseling, improving coordination between the VA and community providers, and ensuring every veteran in crisis gets timely, trusted support.
We have a duty to ensure every veteran has a place to call home and a path to success after service. This starts by expanding veteran housing assistance and strengthening VA partnerships for affordable housing, as well as improving transition programs and investing in job training and apprenticeship opportunities.
Veterans shouldn't have to fight through two separate disability systems because Social Security doesn’t consider military or VA disability ratings. We need to remove that barrier so SSA can review and incorporate military records and ratings, creating one streamlined, consistent path to benefits.
Too many military families shoulder the burdens of service right alongside their loved ones in uniform. We need stronger family support programs, including expanded access to affordable childcare, career assistance for military spouses, and mental health resources tailored to the challenges of military life.
"Protecting Tax Dollars and Restoring Trust."
"Protecting Tax Dollars and Restoring Trust."
Early in my career, I spent several years helping Medicare test new reimbursement methods that reduced fraud, waste, and abuse—saving taxpayers millions. As your Congressman, I’ll make protecting our tax dollars a top priority so that every dollar we invest comes back to our communities in real results.
We must eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse in government spending. Instead of outsourcing responsibility to corporate interests, we should expand the Government Accountability Office and roles of the Offices of Inspector General—agencies that already save taxpayers nearly $100 for every $1 of funding.
We need to prioritize real, nonpartisan audits across every sector of the federal government. This isn’t about politics or punishing public servants—it’s about accountability, fighting corruption, and ensuring that every dollar serves the people it’s meant to help.
Thanks to outdated rules, too many retirees and disabled Americans are paying taxes on their Social Security benefits because the income thresholds were never adjusted for inflation. We should end taxes on benefits and offset the lost revenue by eliminating the payroll tax cap so higher earners pay into the system on all of their income. Together, those changes would ease the burden on beneficiaries while strengthening Social Security’s long-term funding.
"Every Vote. Every Voice. Every Time."
"Every Vote. Every Voice. Every Time."
Democracy only works if the rules are fair, access is guaranteed, and everyone’s voice counts. We need national standards that expand and protect mail-in and early voting, as well as guarantee same-day voter registration. We also must secure our election systems and end discriminatory barriers that silence marginalized communities.
We need to remove partisanship from election administration and redistricting by creating independent commissions, nonpartisan oversight boards, and clear rules that ensure fair maps and impartial elections.
Democracy should be powered by people, not billionaires and corporate PACs. Unlike April McClain Delaney, I am not for sale to the highest bidder. We need to overturn Citizens United, end the flood of dark money, and close loopholes that allow corporations and special interests to buy influence.
We need stronger transparency laws, tighter campaign finance limits, and public financing options that put voters back in charge of our politics instead of the people with the biggest checkbook.
We need to expand civic education programs that teach students not just how government works, but why participation matters. That means investing in nonpartisan programs focused on voting, democracy, and media literacy, so every generation grows up understanding their power and their responsibility as citizens.
"Rebuilding Democracy from the Inside Out."
"Rebuilding Democracy from the Inside Out."
We need to ban Congressional stock trading and close the loopholes that let April McClain Delaney and others profit from insider information. This means passing H.R. 5106, the "Restore Trust in Congress Act," to ensure public service isn't for personal gain.
We must enact Congressional term limits to ensure our representatives earn their seats through ideas and integrity, not the power of incumbency.
The House of Representatives hasn’t grown since the 1920s, even though America’s population has more than tripled. With each member now representing over 750,000 people, it’s time to modernize Congress so it better reflects the people it serves and restores real accountability to government.
Expanding the Supreme Court isn’t about politics—it’s about keeping our judiciary effective and fair. With 13 federal circuits and only 9 justices, the Court is stretched thin and increasingly politicized. It’s time to modernize the institution to meet the needs of a growing and diverse country.
The American people deserve to trust that justice is being served fairly, not influenced by wealth, politics, or power. We must enact a binding Code of Ethics for the federal judiciary with mechanisms for enforcement and public transparency.
The judiciary should serve the Constitution, not a lifetime of politics. We must implement term limits for the federal judiciary to promote accountability, reduce partisanship, and ensure that our courts evolve with the values and realities of a changing nation.
