Community: Pride is Power and Equality is the Goal

Equality isn’t negotiable. Every person — no matter who they are or who they love — deserves to live openly, safely, and with dignity. But across the country, LGBTQ+ Americans are being targeted by politicians who use fear and hate as campaign strategies. Those attacks don’t just harm individuals — they weaken our democracy.

For me, this isn’t just policy — it’s personal. I’m bisexual, and I know what it feels like to navigate a world that doesn’t always see or understand you. I’ve seen the courage it takes to live authentically and the pain that comes from being told you shouldn’t. That’s why I’ll never back down from defending equality — because this fight is about freedom at its core.

I believe that protecting LGBTQ+ rights is about more than tolerance — it’s about justice. It’s about ensuring that every American has the same freedom to live, work, love, and raise a family without fear of discrimination or violence.

I’ll fight for a future where equality is real, not rhetorical, by pushing for:

  • Passing the Equality Act to guarantee full federal protections against discrimination in housing, employment, healthcare, and public life.

  • Defending marriage equality and ensuring that the Supreme Court can’t roll back the rights of same-sex couples.

  • Protecting transgender Americans from targeted legislation, bans on gender-affirming care, and attacks on their dignity and safety.

  • Ensuring access to affirming healthcare, including mental health services and gender-affirming care, for those who need it.

  • Strengthening hate-crime laws and funding community safety programs that protect LGBTQ+ people from harassment and violence.

  • Supporting LGBTQ+ youth by investing in inclusive education, anti-bullying programs, and mental health support in schools.

  • Ending discrimination in adoption, foster care, and family services so loving parents are never denied the chance to raise a child because of who they are.

Progress has never come easy — it’s always been fought for. But every fight for equality has made this country stronger, freer, and fairer.

As your representative, I’ll make this promise: I won’t tiptoe around hate or compromise on equality. Because Pride isn’t just a celebration — it’s a declaration that love and dignity will always win over fear and division.
