Community: Delivering Opportunity Through Education

Every child deserves the chance to succeed — and that starts with a strong, well-funded public education system. But for too many families, opportunity depends on their ZIP code, not their child’s potential. Our schools are underfunded, teachers are overworked, and the cost of higher education keeps too many doors closed.

I believe education is the great equalizer — the promise that hard work and talent should open doors, no matter where you come from. That’s why I’ll fight to make sure every student, at every level, has access to the tools and opportunities they need to thrive:

  • Fully fund public schools and pay educators what they’re worth.

  • Invest in early childhood education so kids start strong and stay on track.

  • Expand broadband access and technology in schools so every student can learn and compete in a digital world.

  • Lower the cost of higher education and expand access to trade programs and apprenticeships — because success shouldn’t only come with a four-year degree.

  • Partner schools with local employers and unions to create apprenticeship pipelines for high-demand careers and rebuild the middle class.

  • Reduce student debt and protect borrowers from predatory lending and broken repayment systems.

  • Increase classroom resources for students with disabilities and those with special needs.

  • Protect public schools from privatization efforts that drain resources from the communities they serve.

Strong schools don’t just teach our kids — they build stronger neighborhoods, better jobs, and a more connected future. When we invest in education, we invest in our communities, our democracy, and the promise of America itself.
